Kids And Physical Activity
Team-building exersize for 7-8 graders?
I am organizing a little competition for 7-8 graders called the Brain Buster. They form teams and compete in academic sections, pop culture, and a physical (ish) challenge. I need help on the last part. Any ideas of a physical activity where kids need to work together as a team? Also maybe a project along the lines of dropping and egg off a roof, trying to have it not break, given certain materials (the egg drop has been done so i cannot use that) But something along those lines. Thanks!
I have an idea that was done when I was in the dare program back in High School (except it was done with a marble.
We had the marble on one side of the room and we had to get it to a pail on the other side of the room using only these wooden shoots (the wooden shoots were about 12 inches long and had a groove for the marble to roll down)
We had to figure out a way to line up our shoots in order to get the marble safely across the room and into the pail at the opposite side.
We were asked to first line ourselves up and then the marble was released.
It took a few tries, but we got there, and our teamwork paid off!!!
I remember doing an egg toss when I was in high school. You could make it a group thing also and involve a bit of rhyming or sequence. (give each student a number or color. They have to say their color and toss. The person they toss it too repeats the previous color and then adds their own color then tosses again, the next person repeats the two previous colors and adds their own color, and so on…
